For two months straight, I used this grinder to remove flaking concrete from rebar with a Makita diamond blade. It worked great. This is what I did to get rid of the mess: I used an air compressor to get rid of the dust from the tool. It was like a sandstorm. My old Black and Decker grinder was not as good as this new one (it broke down from the effort). I didn’t like the paddle switch because it was so easy to press by accident that I didn’t like it. The Makita’s switch pushes up, then slightly down, and it isn’t very likely to start up on its own. As long as I can live with that, I’d rather have it turn off by accident than not have it at all. Using Makita’s tech support has also come in handy for me. I found the people who work there to be helpful and flexible.
