The LS1019L 10 “a slide miter saw with the crown molding cutting capacity of a 12″ miter saw and a bevel lock in front for easy use.
It has a unique 2-Steel Rail Sliding System that allows one person to slide the saw. The saw footprint is smaller so it can be used flush against a wall and has two dust collection ports.
The LS1019L can now hold up to 6-5/8″ crown molding (vertically nested), 5-1/4” baseboard (vertical), and 12 inches of molding “There are miters that go from 0-60° left or right; bevels go from 0 to 48° left or right.
LS1019L has positive miter stops at 0°, 15°, 22.5°, 31.6°, 45°, and 60° to the left or right, and an electronic speed control keeps the speed the same even when the machine is under a lot of stress. This makes for smoother, better cutting.
WST06 is a small aluminum tubular design that is easy to move around on the job site. It weighs only 33.7 lbs. and has large solid rubber wheels and a side handle for easy transportation.

In the end, I couldn’t decide which one to buy. I work with wood and I need a saw that is very accurate. To make more room in my shop, I wanted a saw that had slider bars that went forward. My friend has the new Bosch CM10GD glider saw in his shop, but it doesn’t work very well. It was also important for the saw to be able to get rid of a lot of the dust. I’ve been excited about this saw since I got an email from Makita a few months ago that said it was coming out soon.
It just came out, and there aren’t many reviews yet. A review said that the upper fences had to be removed in order to make bevel cuts. I was worried about that. I needed to see this saw in person to be sure. The lower fences on the Bosch 4310 I’m replacing are taller than on the one I’m replacing it with. I didn’t think it was a big deal.
I decided to buy it at Acme Tool for $509 and try it out with the promise of a 30-day refund if I didn’t like it. With FastCap’s best fence, I set it up at home. I hooked it up to my shop vac with a dust deputy separator and cut a few pieces of wood. Horizontally, the saw was very straight over an 11-1/4-inch piece of wood “A wide board is better than my Bosch 4310, which can’t cut square when I move the sliders. There is very good dust collection if you don’t use the sliders to move the machine around.. If you move the sliders, the second dust collection shroud is hidden by the fence. This is how it looks: The main port on the saw for collecting dust isn’t very big. This is because the main port for collecting dust is small and it splits into two separate shrouds. If you use this saw like a standard non-sliding miter saw and use both at the same time, the dust collection is pretty impressive.
To return the saw, I have to because it doesn’t cut in a straight line when I’m cutting up and down. As you get near the fence, the saw makes a small bevel. This could be used for general carpentry, but not for very precise woodwork, like making furniture. On top of that, I also had two major kickbacks on the saw, which are very rare on miter saws. Some people think this is because of this bevel problem or because the saw cuts in the middle of a curve instead of a straight line. It goes over the middle of the board, as shown in the picture. You can see a big step in your wood when you cut it, which is about 1/32″ to 1/64” deep. It starts to burn when you start to cut on the right side of the blade.
The lemon could have been there, but I’m not going to use it.
A Festool Kapex that came with lasers that aren’t very accurate made me decide to spend three times as much money and buy it anyway.
If the motor on the Festool breaks down, I hope it doesn’t cost more to fix than I paid for this Makita, but the Kapex is a real pleasure to use.
Other things.
The upper fences are set back 1/64 of an inch “There are two main fences. On the floor model as well, I saw this as well.
The screws for the back of the throat plate are hidden by the fence. To turn them, you need a flat head screw driver instead of a Phillips.
When you buy it, it comes with a lot of grease on it, which makes the sliding surfaces of it pick up dust.
To make room for a vacuum hose, you have to keep the saw away from a wall. This takes away from the forward sliding design. There is a reason why you can’t put the saw right up against the wall. If you want the hose to move and make miter cuts, you can’t do that.
There is a knob on the bevel lock that looks a lot like a Festool Kapex, but it is just a knob that locks and unlocks the bevel function. It takes a lot of unscrewing to get it off. It doesn’t really change the angle of the bevel like a Kapex (The bevel lock on my Bosch is just a lever on the front that is much faster and easier..
China made it.
One side of the blade has a laser.
The safety trigger is hard to use with your left hand, but you can get used to it.
Kickbacks..
A brick and mortar store would be cheaper if they didn’t have to pay tax on the price. I don’t want to risk having to pay return shipping on something this big and heavy. If it didn’t come in an outer box, it could get broken during shipping. It’s not made of styrofoam, but cardboard.

I like the motor with direct drive (no belts to slip or replace).
The motor is very quiet.
I think it’s strong.
Not too heavy.
I think it is a good deal.
It has a good look to it.
The upper fences are easy to remove, and they can be clipped to the outfeed rails so you don’t lose them when you take them off.
Use it as a simple chop saw and the dust collection is good. If you use the sliders, the dust collection is good, but not great.
The stock blade cuts very well.
Even though the hold down isn’t a quick release, it can be released and clamped quickly even though it isn’t.
It has sliding rails that move forward to save space.
Laser was correct.
If you don’t think about the curve, it cuts very square.
In the fall, there will be a cordless version of this saw. If you are going to use it as a contractor saw, you might want to wait until then.
A Dewalt DW717 would be good for me if I didn’t care about collecting dust or having rails that were facing in the right direction. People say the led lights instead of lasers are going to be great and never need to be calibrated. I use a Dewalt without the LED light at work, and it does a great job but spreads dust everywhere. The Milwalkee slider is also very good. Two of them were at school. They have a digital readout of the miter, which is great, and they were very accurate. The problem is that it comes with only 12 of them “blades and a port that doesn’t work with vacuums. FLEXVOLT is the best option right now if you want something cordless. I haven’t used one myself, but I want a 10″ blade for less deflection and the FLEXVOLT is only 12” long.
