Compressors are important tools for both the job site and the work shop, and they are used a lot. People love Makita® Air Compressors for their quick recovery time, low noise level and long-lasting tools.

The Makita® Quiet Series 1-1/2 HP, 3 Gallon, Oil-Free, Electric Air Compressor (MAC320Q) has a Quiet Series Design, which means it makes less noise while still getting the job done. At 60 dBA, it’s great for working inside. You can use it for case and base installation, trim and finish work, cabinet or furniture making, and more. The MAC320Q runs at a slower speed, which means that the motor and pump will last longer. One-half horsepower induction motor gives it up to 90 PSI. It also weighs only 52.5 pounds, which makes it easier to move around.

The roll-cage construction adds extra protection for the pump and motor assembly while it is being moved, stored, and on the job site. An oil-free dual-piston pump that doesn’t need to be serviced and AC power cord hooks that make it easy to store the AC power cord are some of the other features.

This compressor is made by Makita, and it does what it says it does very well. Many Mac 700s are around. I just bought this new MAC320Q. It is a lot quieter than the Makita MAC700 compressor, but it isn’t a lot quieter than the Makita MAC100 compressor. New Makita Mac320Q model: It weighs about the same, has less HP, has a lower CFM rating, takes up more floor space, is more difficult to carry, and it vibrates just as much or more. If that wasn’t bad enough, it costs more and has a unique pressure regulator system that will cost a lot to fix when it breaks down. They all will eventually break down. It looks like the MAC700 is going to be the best bet for me. They seem to last “forever,” and you can buy replacement parts for both the pressure switch and the regulator on Amazon for about $25 each. Because this new MAC320Q is so quiet, you’ll be very happy if that’s all you care about. Other than that, it doesn’t make a lot of sense.
