A very good DA polisher that is very strong and well made. Makita power tools have worked well for me in the past, and this polisher is no exception. I use it on a fiberglass boat that is 24 feet long and has a fiberglass hul. You can use the “power rotation” to remove the oxidation from the fiberglass with no risk of burning the surface, like a rotary polisher can do. I’ve used both types of polishers on fiberglass and I think the DA with power rotation is better than a rotary polisher. As long as you don’t use the rotary polisher, it’s safe to use. It won’t burn the finish of the boat, which is why it’s better than the DA. In the case of an automobile finish, I would use the non-power rotary setting. For fiberglass, I use the power setting to cut through the oxidation. The price of this polisher isn’t cheap, but it’s a case of getting what you pay for. Buying good things is never a bad idea, and this polisher is made to last.
