I’m extremely pleased with this firearm. Normally, I prefer DeWalt corded power tools. Compared to other manufacturers, I chose this one because the bolts that hold the plastic to the metal part of its body are oriented in the opposite direction of the bolts on the other manufacturers’ vehicles. As a result, metal threads are used rather than plastic threads. It had been brought to my attention that screws coming loose and stripping threads would shorten the lifespan of other similar firearms. I intend to keep this thing for the foreseeable future, so I went with the most durable model I could find. It is large and heavy, but it is not significantly larger or heavier than its competitors. The socket will be securely held in place by the detent pin anvil, which will never let go. Additionally, you will require a tool to push the socket down in order to free it from the socket. You can take it off and put it back on whenever you want as long as you don’t line up the hole in the socket with the pin. The socket must be specifically depressed with your finger in order to be put on, which makes it difficult. Using an angle to begin, I discovered that I could pop the socket into place without having to depress the pin with my finger. I wish there was a hog ring option available, like the one DeWalt provides. Aside from the difficult-to-use pin, I am extremely pleased with my purchase. I don’t use it very often, so I’m okay with the pin slowing me down a little bit in the process.
