A review like this one isn’t always the best idea. If it breaks or has other issues, I’ll change my review. This is the last thing I have in my Makita 18V LXT line. 7 1/2 circular saw, 18V X2 chainsaw, drill driver, impact driver and a really good light that I got for Christmas are some of the tools I ow. I love them all. Because they did so well, I’m very happy with them. In the old NiCad cordless tool days, this system was a long way ahead of what it is now. Getting started can be a lot of money, but don’t let that stop you. Because these 18V LXT tools work so well, you won’t be disappointed with how well they do their job.
It’s time for the angle grinder itself to come up. My cut-off wheels wouldn’t be strong enough to use on some 1/4″ sheet I had to cut. There’s no problem at all. I also used it right away to cut out two 20-inch circles from 10 gauge expanded metal and use them as grates in my burn barrel. Again, there is no problem at all. One cut wheel and a quarter of the next one were worn out. I then switched the tool to a grinding wheel and ground down some of my bad welds. Honestly, I think my bad welding looks a lot better now. In this case, I already had a lot of batteries, so I bought the bare tool for under $100. Worth the money. I may never use my corded angle grinder again. I don’t know.
