I bought them for my remodeling business. I do a lot of basement remodels that include a kitchen and a bathroom that is fully equipped. This saw is very good at cutting through a 4″ thick slab of concrete very quickly.
To keep the dust down, the water system is very good. I used one of those flexible hoses that can be seen on TV. After I used it, I was able to store and wrap it up quickly. This worked well because I think the saw’s water system could be the only thing that doesn’t work. Because I have so many Makita tools and batteries, I don’t have to worry about the saw needing a lot of batteries. I think it would be easy to cut concrete block because it’s so dense.
The Masonry blade that came with it worked perfectly.
Pricey but I think it paid for itself on the first job. How long did it take for me to cut about 40 feet of concrete? A few hours. Maybe 8 or 10 new 5amp batteries.
