You should buy this. It’s one of the coolest tools I have. If you’ve read my other reviews, you know that I’m a carpenter who works on interior wood trim. I have used a handheld bandsaw for a long time, but I have never been able to get a good straight cut with it.
So I bought this, too. I can only say “wow. There is a lot of precision on this saw, and the speed at which it cuts is great, too. Cut closet rods with it at least twice a week. If you run this through 1/2” plate steel, it works just as wel.
An electric motor that doesn’t use a brush is very quiet, and the blade stops quickly when the brake is pressed. This is a huge improvement to the 18v skill saws because the table is so much better. It’s also great that the tool shows how much battery power it has on the outside of the body. This saw doesn’t cut through my materials, and with the plastic shroud, it doesn’t kick up a lot of dust or dirt.
There’s no way the old band saw is going to come back from the dead for a very long time.
