In order for this power-assisted Turbo-X-Tool DH Hemming attachment to function, it must be connected to either a minimum 14.4 Volt cordless drill or a maximum 7 Amp a/c drill. A telescoping clamp can be adjusted to fit any drill housing, regardless of its length or width. Optional spacers for large motor housings are kept on hand in the clamp. A 360-degree rotation and setting of the shear head is possible with the clamp collar, allowing for optimal tool clearance when navigating profiles or for easy material flow. The Hemming attachment that has been installed is easily operated with one hand. Remove the old door skin and prepare the door in the same manner as before. Smooth operation can be achieved by slightly angling the upright lip of the replacement door skin with a hammer and dolly, as well as flattening the point of entry on the replacement door skin. Keep the anvil of the Hemming tool flush against the outer edge of the door skin and the finished side of the door skin for the best results. The high-impact ABS polymer anvil will not scratch or mar the replacement door skin due to its high impact resistance. Using a narrow seaming wheel that fits flush against the anvil fence, a tight, clean hemmed door edge can be achieved with ease. Withstanding solvents, the Malco DH Hemming Tool attachment is simple to clean and retains the adhesive that was used to join the door skin and panel together.
Exceptional product that produces the best hems while being the least aggressive hemming tool I have ever used on a vehicle’s outer panels. This is simple to operate with a 12v cordless drill, and it provides a smooth and consistent roll to the hem. Hand rolling the starting point and outer rolls of the panels is required, but this method is excellent for long runs with concave edges.
