The Metabo HPT 7-1/4″ sliding dual bevel miter saw was built with the best finish carpenters in mind. It was built on a foundation of 70 years of high-end engineering, which led to a saw that is better at everything from cutting to feeling to durability. A 36 Volt MultiVoltTM battery can be used for cord-like power and portability, or you can use the new MultiVoltTM AC adapter for all day power. You can expect this saw to be a favorite for generations thanks to its high-end engineering, low-noise brushless motor, twin belt system for smoother cuts, and MultiVolt strength.

I don’t like how the cut looks. I used my machinist’s flat edge, thickness gages, and a dial indicator to make sure the saw worked. So far, I’ve only found two things that have gone wrong.

Right. The 45 Degree button is way off. The 45-degree 4cut test with the right fence left a 1/8-inch gap. But when it came to making a 90-degree cut with the right fence, it was dead on.

So I think the right 45 detent is cut into the casting the wrong way, so that’s what I think.

Dead on: The 45-degree test on the left side is right on the money.

They said there was nothing they could do. So another saw is coming.

I will say that Metabo was easy to work with and showed a lot of care. Because the tech gave me his direct phone number, I can keep him up to date on the second saw’s tests. There is no doubt that customer service response and help are a 10.

UPDATE.

“About this thing.

PRO READY: Extreme precision and accuracy for professional results..

Not at all.

Amazon sent me a second saw today, so thanks.

Saw #2 is the same in almost all of the tests, even the right side 45-degree test. The 45-degree detent on the right side is way off, just like the first time I looked at it. I didn’t measure how far off it is. It’s too far off to figure out.

Motorhead to rails alignment was a little better on the #2 saw than it was on the first one.

No. 2: 006 out, No. 1:.009 ou.

Photos of 45 4 cut tests marked 1L=left fence and cut and 1R=right fence and cut are shown. They show the results of the tests.

The second update is here.

Both saws will have to be sent back. Or you could not use it for right-detent 45-degree cuts with this tool. According to what was said and checked, the right side 45 detent isn’t at 45 degrees. There is no way to fix this casting flaw.

It’s a shame, because I really like the saw and thought I could keep it and just adjust the right 45 every time I used it. That’s a lot of money.
