This grinder is used for stone cutting, which is what I do. I purchased it because of the “9” rating. It failed after only a few months of regular use. A warranty repair or replacement was requested, and the request was denied on the grounds of poor maintenance (i.e., failing to blow out dust on a regular basis), which is clearly not the case. I believe it has more to do with the fact that you are using a 9″ blade, which overpowers the motor if you are doing any heavy cutting. I have the same grinder under the Hitachi brand, which is rated at 7″, and I have had no problems with it in nearly two years.
