In general, I like pneumatic guns made by Hitachi and now by Metabo. Hitachi nail guns have been used by me for more than 20 years. Even though this gun works well and has good ergonomics, there are a few major flaws with it. Plastic is used to make the rail at the start of the game. If you want to build something long-term, you don’t want to use this kind of material at all. Second, to change the depth, you need a wrench to loosen and tighten. This is a pain when you’re trying to change it while you’re working.
I also got a smoke-like smell from my brand-new gun the first time I used it. I haven’t had the smell happen again, and I hope it won’t become a problem. The smell didn’t make me feel very confident about the reliability and build quality of the gun.
