Installing my Super Sawzall, model number 6527-21, was a little bit easier than I thought it would be. When I had to take the old ring off, that was the most time-consuming part for me. My saw already had a counter bore hole, so I didn’t have to drill. There is a big difference between the upgraded quick release and the original one. It has a metal front cam collar instead of the original plastic one.

I think it’s very important to watch a YouTube video as well as read the installation instructions. There aren’t many steps to putting the parts back together, but you’ll have to twist the rear cam against spring tension while applying upward pressure to the sleeve to align its hole with the one on the spindle. At this point, wiggle the lock pin until it’s all the way in. The square head of the lock pin will be on top of the rear cam. Turn and wiggle the front cam collar until it’s all the way in. Then, put the retaining ring on.
