Because it is a cordless tool, the Milwaukee M12 FUEL 1/2 inch Ratchet can replace pneumatic Ratchets in the industry. It has enough torque and size to do the job. With up to 60 foot pounds of max torque and 175rpms, this tool is the best choice for auto mechanics and maintenance and repair professionals who want the best performance and the best portability. A low-profile head and cordless design allow our users to get into tight places that other units can’t. With the best technology in the business, a reinforced mechanism, and a yoke housing made of investment cast steel, this ratchet can last for years on the job site. With the M12 FUEL Ratchet, you can get rid of the constant maintenance of pneumatic ratchets and the hassle of having an air hose in your shop. This tool is perfect for professionals who need to be able to move around and work quickly.

When I need a tool, I reach for this one. If you use it every day or in every situation, though, it’s not the best thing for that. For speed, I’ll use my small impact driver more often than this. However, if you need control and/or finesse when tightening a fastener and don’t want to spend a lot of time cranking a hand-cranked ratchet, this thing will save you a lot of time and money. There are three sizes and a case to keep them in. I bought them all.

They are very durable and resistant to being hit. I bought two 3.0 ah batteries that are the same size as the one that came with it. Battery life has been great, and the variable speed trigger is great for controlling the speed. It has more power than I thought it would or needed to have (THIS IS NOT A TORQUE WRENCH THOUGH). It can do about 60 ft lbs every time (But remember, if you need a torque wrench, buy a torque wrench..this is a ratchet). The depth of the head isn’t very deep, given the size and weight of the tool.

She’s big. This is a good idea if you’re lying on your back under the car and holding this over your head. Make sure your face isn’t in the drop zone. Some of the air tools I have have bigger throats and bodies than this one. If you wrap it in the rubber protector, it gets bigger even more. Not a game changer, but it’s still something to think about. As an electric tool, it’s also pretty noisy. If I had an air tool, it would be a lot quieter than this one. It’s still louder than my impact driver, though. If you want to use this in your driveway at 9pm, you won’t need hearing protection. I would not use this in my driveway at that time.

It’s a great tool for getting into all those hard-to-reach places in your car, truck, boat, trailer, or airplane. So I bought all three sizes. But if you want pure speed, don’t get rid of your impact driver with a socket adapter.
