Metal cutting circular saw model 6370-20 or 6370-21 from Milwaukee can cut faster, cooler, cleaner, and more cheaply than other circular saws on the market. Forget about the hot metal chips and sparks that used to fly into the air when you worked on a metal construction project. The 6370 shears the metal, leaving behind a nearly spark-free trail and cool, burr- and scorch-free edges that don’t need to be finished after cutting. An effective magnesium blade shield keeps cool cut waste, which is made of metal shavings, from getting into the saw’s built-in chip tank. Cool cutting also means that materials can be used almost right away after a cut, cutting down on downtime. 13 amps (1-3/4 HP), 3,700 RPM, and a full grill of cermet-tipped teeth make the 6370 rip through tough cuts with ease. All day, every day, you can get up to 10 gauge sheets and 1/4 in. steel plate cuts. It is possible to make more extreme cuts, even up to 3/4 in. thick steel plate, when the correct operating techniques are used. Anyone who cold cuts metal has value. Internal tests show that our new metal cutting blades can last at least 25 times longer than a standard abrasive wheel. Cermet tip metallurgy and tooth geometry make these blades cut faster, stay sharp longer, and withstand more impacts for a significantly lower cost per cut (0.20 versus 0.60). There are sight lines and blade point of entry indicators built in to the new 6370 to make sure you stay on track. There is also space in the saw’s shoe for a rip fence. A lower guard retraction lever is also the first and only thing about this corded metal cutting saw that doesn’t have a cord. It’s a great new tool for metal roofing contractors who often have to make plunge cuts. The lever’s location next to the side handle makes sure that the user has both hands on the saw at all times during the cut.
