First of all, this is my first sliding miter. I was very excited to get it. You can’t turn down a sliding miter for $300, and this saw has a lot of good things. But after I looked at it and used it, I was disappointed. A video of our review has been added to this review.
The Great.
A 10 3/4″ x 1.5″ plank was easy to cut through with this saw. It can cut up to 13″ wide. It made a very clean cut.
There are many things I love about this laser. It is very bright and accurate. In this case, I put a steel square in front of the saw. The laser beam split in half along its length.
In this case, MITER DETENTS work very wel. The detents are very easy to use and very accurate, so it’s easy to get them right. At 45 degrees, I set the detent for that.
If you want a laser sliding miter, you can get it for $300.
The Worst.
Sounds and feels like steel on steel, as if there are no bushings to help slide bars move. A sliding miter that was made by a well-known company was very quiet. In the video below, I show how the two saws sound when the slider is moved. There may not be enough or no bushings to guide the tubes, and the slides will wear down over time, which could cause the cut to be off. This didn’t help with the Smadron saw’s nails on blackboard noise. All of the slides were oiled and greased.
— SMALL FENCE. The fence is only 3-1/4 inches tall. That’s a fence that isn’t very wide or wide. When I use my current non-sliding miter saw, I like that the fence is 4-3/4″ tall, but sometimes it could be even taller than that.
If the extensions have a lot of slop or movement, they aren’t exactly aligned with the saw’s table, making it hard to cut.

The manufacturer’s website, Smadroncorp.com, didn’t show up in a web search, so I tried to find out more about this company. I also sent an email to the address in the manual, but I didn’t hear back for two weeks. An “here today gone tomorrow” short-term distributor who has some stock and will sell it until they run out. Any warranty issues will not be looked into because they are “here today gone tomorrow. Amazon should check to see if the sellers are able to keep their promises, such as warranties and customer service.
In the end, I think the Smadron saw with its low fence will work well for people who like to work with wood and don’t care about collecting dust. In this case, I would be very worried about not getting enough help. Taking all the things into account, one should think about a name brand double miter sliding saw without a laser. It will cost about 30% more and not have a laser, but it has sliders with quiet bushings, better dust collection, and a lot of support.
