Lbs. of torque, which lets the user get more work done by fastening a wide range of things. Having a length of only 5.1″ allows you to get into places that other tools can’t.
I saw that this was on sale for less than $50 and bought it right away, even though I already own the older version of this. I did this even though I already own this.
Drilled a half dozen 1 1/8″ holes in 2×4 material with the spade bit in drill mode. 3/16″ holes can be found in concrete block and brick, as well as in concrete. Finally, as a screw driver, I used 2 1/2″ #10 Spax construction screws to build a fence.
As a drill and hammer drill, it worked just fine. It needed some tweaking from the previous model, but it drilled and hammered just as well as it should have. A little more power than the old one, which is good.
As a driver, it’s a real pain. Trust everything you hear about its problems with its “clutch.” It takes a long time to respond, often drives the head too far down unless you use the #2 setting (it’s hit or miss). But it also won’t back that same screw out on its #2 setting without stalling. Milwaukee has a long way to go before they get this right with the electronic controllers. Its “soft” start and stop has no torque, which makes people angry and slows down work.
As a side note, this item was the worst-packaged item I have ever bought on Amazon, no matter who made it. It’s not good for someone at AtoZ tools to put a few pounds of hammer drill in a single layer bubble wrap bag like the kind you get a T-shirt in.
