quickly and easy to “set up” (which is not much). The stand is easy to put together, but it takes a lot of time and patience to do. I didn’t use the stand, but I put the rubber feet on a piece of granite instead. This is how it looked: There was no noise or movement from the planer at all. The first thing I did was cut down a piece of Bocote that was 7/8″ long to 1/2″. There is a lot of noise when this machine is turned on. When it is cutting wood, it gets a lot louder but isn’t too bad. With a little over 10 or 12 passes, I was able to make a 1/2″ board completely smooth. In and out rollers are the best parts of the machine. So you don’t have to push and hold the board. They’ll do that for you. Just start it and let it go. It took me about an hour to plane a 4′ board. I didn’t get any snipe. It’s easy to move and lift. Good thing I bought this for my shop.
