This item looks like it was made by the manufacturer and is very durable. However, after I installed it on my DCD760, I had a problem with it. To start with, the chuck was very stiff when I tried to put in bits. I thought this was because the drill was new. When I used it to drill four 1/16-inch holes, though, I realized that this was not the case “When I tried to take the drill bit out, my finger got burned by the drill’s metal frame. To put it another way, the drill’s body was getting hot from the friction between the chuck and the drill. In my corded drill, I noticed that it had about 1/16 of an inch in the chuck “The space between the drill frame and the back of the chuck. There was no space between my DCD760’s frame and the new chuck. If I had been able to return the chuck, I would have. There was a cheap way to fix it, though. I bought a 3/8-inch drill “HD sells a flat washer for 31 cents. drilled it so that 1/2 would fit over “Drill shaft, and then the chuck was put back on. Perfect. There is now enough space for bits to fit in, and there is no more friction heating of the drill body and no more burned hands. It was because I didn’t want to buy a 1/2 “a flat washer is different from a regular one because they have a bigger diameter. There are metal parts of the drill body that protrude from the bottom of the chuck that would rub on a washer that big. A 3/8th “The washer is much thinner and has a much smaller diameter, so it fits perfectly inside the parts of the frame that stick out. The DCD760 comes in many different models, and this problem could be caused by people selling factory-rejected models that they didn’t know about, but in today’s market, it might not be. Make sure there’s enough space between the new chuck and the body of the drill. Great!
