It appears that attempting to use the manufacturer’s warranty with this product will be futile. If you decide to purchase the product, make certain that you purchase Asurion through Amazon. Amazon, through Asurion, will stand behind the product, whereas the manufacturer will not do so. I made the mistake of assuming that because I was purchasing the product for light use, I did not require the additional warranty coverage. However, attempting to obtain factory assistance is nearly impossible. For a while, the product performed admirably, but it gradually lost torque and began to slip, which was clearly due to a manufacturing defect. I have used OEM products in the past and found them to be excellent, but this particular product did not meet my expectations.
