Bought to help me make knives. I had to make some changes. To start with, there isn’t enough space between the drive wheel and the frame/guard to load either of the two belts. When I took the drive wheel off, I had to grind out the guard to make it bigger. Great. When you’re done, cut off part of the right side of the rap around guide plate to make it easier to remove the grinding belt. And I’ve also taken down the belt guard on the right side. Now the machine is ready to go to work. I’ve already ground two knives, and I’m happy with how they turned out. Not only does this machine not compare to a professional 2″ x 27″ grinder, but it is also a great hobby and start-up machine.
A new and bigger guide plate has since been added. I love this little machine.
