This item was bought on 12/12/19, and it was delivered on 12/15/19. After the new year, I started using it, and it broke yesterday – 3/2/20. This is how it works. There is no longer a return window for Amazon. Porter Cable has been asked to help. When this part broke off and flew away, I was really lucky I didn’t lose a finger. As far as I know, Porter Cable hasn’t been making high-quality tools for a long time now.
3/5/20: Porter Cable responded to the case with a new sander. In a few days, it should arrive. I’m a little afraid to use it, but I’ll give it another try. The review has been changed to give it two more stars because the company did a good job of fixing the problem.
