The 1/4 Sheet Orbital Finish Sander has a 2.0 Amp motor that gives a great finish. A lot of people use electric sanders for fine finishing before coatings, less aggressive material removal than random orbital sanders, or sanding into the corner. I use a different sander for each grit of sand paper. It was a lot of tools: I had two Porter Cable 380 sanders and two from other brands. It took me a long time to realize that the Porter Cable 380 sanders were much faster than the two other sanders. I bought two more Porter Cable 380s and got rid of the other two.
You might want to know that some newer sand paper sheets have adhesive on the back that can tear the sanding pad when you switch to a new sheet of sand paper. It doesn’t tear because I rub some fine sanding dust on the back of the sandpaper to make it less sticky.
