The PORTER CABLE PCC671B 20v Lithium Bare Reciprocating Saw has a high-herformance drivetrain that gives it a 1″ stroke length and 0-3,000 SPM for cutting at a fast rate. The tool is only 14.5″ long, which makes it easy to get into small places. The tool’s tool-free blade release makes blade changes quick and easy. A variable-speed trigger lets you cut a wide range of materials, and the pivoting shoe helps keep the tool in contact with the material at all times. An overmolded handle that contours to your hand for extra comfort. Part of the 20V Max System, which is a very powerful cordless tool. This is a tool with no battery.

I cut down my old PCC670B to fit a Black & Decker battery because they are cheaper. Do the same with this saw. The quick-release chuck does seem to be more durable than the PCC670B, but I’m not sure. I hope this one lasts longer than two years.

I’m very disappointed that Porter Cable didn’t make more of their products have brushless motors, like the saws and hammer drills. When I went to buy this saw, I only did so because my batteries are still in good shape. It won’t happen until the batteries run out. If a project comes up before then that justifies the purchase of more modern tools, I’ll switch to a different brand of power tools.
