I’ve worked in construction for 38 years and still have many pre-china made Porter Cable tools, as well as a variety of other manufacturers’ equipment. I finally broke down and purchased this set to satisfy my curiosity, and my first impression upon opening the box for inspection was that these would be well suited for a general homeowner who uses them infrequently, if not at all, to satisfy his or her curiosity. It occurred to me later that they were simply the TOY versions of what Porter Cable should have been producing instead. The bottom line is, and this statement is directed specifically at Porter Cable.. The time has come to bring your manufacturing back to the United States and resume your once proud tradition of producing HIGH QUALITY tools, tools that real contractors who demand the highest quality from their equipment require.. give up on cheaply made China cheap labor junk and reap the benefits of once again being the world’s leading manufacturer of tooling!
