In the beginning, I thought it was very low, medium, and high. The next day, I’ll be putting it in my shop. I wanted to take a few pictures and write a quick review of it before I put it in.

The shipping was very light, but the item was not damaged when it arrived. It’s in a box with two hard foam inserts on its face and back to keep it safe. You can see from the pictures that it’s painted a nice slate gray/blue color. It was easy to open the box.

On it went after I plugged it in and hit the button. You can tell that it’s running by the noise level. I’m sitting on the couch watching TV with the unit directly below the TV and I didn’t need to turn up the TV to keep hearing it at the same level. As a side note, I can also hear my wife talking to the dog upstairs without a problem. I think my neighbors can hear her, too. The noise level changes between low, medium, and high, but the noise on high isn’t enough to bother me, so I can’t imagine running it at any other speed. A week from now, I’ll be updating this review when I’ve cleaned up my basement shop and then made a mess again. I haven’t used the remote yet, but I will.

My shop is in the basement, and it’s about 25x16x7.5. I’ll show you a picture of that when it’s done.

The Day 1 follow-up: I put 4 screws in my floor joists and used the chains that came with it to hang it. It was easy to do. When it was all said and done, it took about 10 minutes to do. Then I used it to cut 8 panels to length (16 cuts) and then cut each of the panels a tenon (16 tenons). What I didn’t know was that my dust collector was completely clogged and wasn’t doing a good job of sucking. I also started to figure out how to fix that, and let’s just say that made a lot of dust in the air. I took the filter out, went outside to clean it and blow it out, and when I came back inside, the air in the shop was almost perfect. As long as this thing keeps working, it will be a great buy.

The complaint.

The remote isn’t ideal, but it’s right next to my light switch, so I’ll turn it on when I start working and let it run for an hour when I’m done. I won’t be turning it on and off while I’m working down there.

The noise level of it in the shop on high was very low, and I couldn’t hear it even when I was wearing ear protection. I couldn’t even hear it over music that I couldn’t hear with hearing protection on.

In the last 7 months, there has been no change in performance. I’ve had to change both filters a few times, and I’m not going to lie, it’s kind of scary how much particulate this thing picks up. If I had to guess, I think it’s run for about 8 hours a week since it was bought. It takes me 2-3 hours to work in the shop, and then I let the timer run for another hour or two after I’m done. As long as I’m wearing ear protection I can’t hear it. I think this is a good value for what it does and it’s not too loud. In this case, (CFM’s, Filter, and Price Point)
