It occurred to me that I should purchase this because of all of the screw heads I’ve ruined over the years and how I’ve used the old hacksaw and flat slot trick to extract them in the past. This sounded appropriate, so I purchased it for future reference. It wasn’t long before I was given my test for it, though. I purchased a chipper/shredder, and when I went to remove the blades for the first time, I discovered that the screws were far too tight. When an allen wrench is about to come out of a slot, I can tell, and this screw would never have been removed if I hadn’t known. I tried several different types of penetrating oils with no success. I ordered the bits that would work through Amazon, and when they arrived, I used this driver to remove the screws with little difficulty. I was pleased with the results. The combination of the impact shock and the effect of driving the bit safely down into the socket at the same time as the torque works flawlessly in this situation. Keep one of these in your toolbox in case you need to save your bacon one day. The price is extremely reasonable.
