There is a Proxxon pensander called PS 12, and the number is 28594. It’s great for surfaces, slots, and tight places. As part of this set, there are four straight shank abrasives and four that have an angle to them. There are also three sheets of pre-profiled, self-sticking sanding pads on each of the sheets. 180, 240 and 400-Grit sheets each have five of each shape. An AC adapter with at least 12-18V and 1.0-Amp must be used. We think proxxon power supplies NG 2/S, number 38706, or NG 5/E, number 38704, are the best ones for you. Speed can be set electronically on the 38704 unit to be different for different applications and materials.
I bought the Proxxon micro sander because I don’t like sanding my 3D printed things before they are finished. To be honest, I was a little skeptical about this sander because the reviews were not all positive. I hate sanding so much that I bought it anyway. I did not buy the Proxxon power supply unit because I already had a 3 amp 30 volt variable power supply. When it arrived quickly, I took a chance and wired it to an old 12 volt, 1000 milliamp Linksys router power adapter I had on hand. It worked great. This so far has worked out well for me. A powerful sander is actually useful for sanding my plastic models. I didn’t expect it to be as powerful as it is. I thought it might melt the plastic, like when I used a dremel-type tool for sanding. The Proxxon, with its “side-to-side” motion, doesn’t overheat the plastic unless you really push it.
A great little sander makes it easier to finish a project.
