A long-time friend of mine died, so I bought this tool. About 6 to 8 times, I used the proxxon. After that, it died on me. I’m very disappointed.
I made sure not to cover the vents when I used it and only used it for short periods of time. It didn’t help. $80 went up in flames:.
I, of course, had to do an autopsy to find out what happened. To figure out what was wrong, I took the tool apart to see what was wrong. I found that one of its resistors had been burned out on the circuit board. How sad, because the motor worked fine. For the price, you’d expect it to be well made and last a long time.
A dremel or the cheaper black and decker rotary tool is what I’m going to use instead now.
