The CNC 1610 router machine can not only engrave wood, plastic, acrylic, pvc, pcb, carbon fiber, density board, and other similar materials, but it can also engrave soft metals such as copper, aluminum, and other similar materials. Harder materials, such as glass, hard metal, jade, and other similar materials, cannot be engraved.
Putting it all together was a little difficult. The clamps were not clamping at all; I tried tightening them up, but they would not clamp on the smooth rods. I had to purchase something to keep the rod from sliding, and the directions were not clear or accurate. Bolts and t nuts are inexpensive and easy to strip because they are not described in full, are not clearly marked, and are not labeled on the majority of the items that should have been. Following the modifications, I had to put this thing together and it worked perfectly. I had to purchase some l brackets in order to add some strength to the machine building portion of it, but it was still functional after the modifications.
