Vibratory tumblers are finishing machines that are used to grind and polish small things, like metal parts that aren’t the same shape as each other or rocks that aren’t flat. The tumblers are made up of a bowl that is attached to a motorized base that moves to make friction between the bowl’s contents. This action grinds and polishes the objects, but it doesn’t change their shape very much. Grinding and polishing mixtures can be added to make different types of finishes.

Raytech makes equipment for metal finishing and gem processing. The company was started in 1958 and is based in Middletown, CT.

Okay, I saw the bad reviews. Afterwards, I bought this tumbler and felt a little bad that I didn’t look at it sooner. It doesn’t come with any instructions, but you can find them on YouTube.

As for the many reviews that say the bowl flies off, I don’t know.

It’s a tool called a WRENCH. It works like a charm.

We have to be careful with this rubber nut because it can come loose. This makes the bowl spin instead of the rocks. With pliers, this isn’t a big deal. Ceramic media is also important, though, so don’t forget about that. For the tumbler to work well, it must always be about 3/4 full (your rocks should be moving counter-clockwise and diving in and out of the media)
