The new ONE+ 8 in. Lithium-Ion Pole Saw from Ryobi is out now. This cordless pruner can reach up to 9.5 ft. with the extension pole. It’s great for cutting down dead and ugly branches and limbs.
My 6″ branch was about 13′ off the ground, and I was able to cut through it with no trouble.
The pole joints look like they aren’t strong enough for the weight of the motor and saw at the end. I don’t think it’s strong enough for daily use, but it’s good for what I need.
Afterward, I only used about 1/4 of the 18-volt battery.
For the few times a year I will be using the unit, I’m very happy with it.
As soon as I switched to the one+ batteries, I have changed my opinion about Ryobi tools. This is the last tool I’ve bought. I now have a Ryobi drill, driver, flood light, 1/2″ impact, hand held blower, air compressor, leaf blower, 10″ chain saw, and now a pole saw, as well. :. There are two corded Milwaukee sawzalls and a holesaw that I won’t give up just yet.
There has been an update. I added a handle for less than $15. Ordered off of Amazon. There are some pictures to look at as well. Fits very well.
