All of my projects around the house and farm use this. Ryobi isn’t the best brand out there, but it is the best value I have found so far. The batteries are a little pricey, but for the extra power that comes with lithium ion, it’s worth it.
Impact drivers use a lot more power than normal drills. This makes a big difference in how they drive screws. Drive things like lag bolts with this tool. It works best for long wood screws. Neither Phillips nor torx is the best choice. If I can afford it, I usually try to get torx, because those drive much more smoothly and don’t need to be stripped. They work great, too. But it can still drive a phillips in a pinch, but expect it to break a lot because it is a more powerful drive.
A hex drive is all this has. Use tools with 1/4″ hex shafts on it. A good hammer drill or driver would be better than this drill on its own. I wouldn’t use it for general drilling. People who build decks, put wood or metal on top of their homes, and more will love this. As long as you don’t need much power for your car, this is a great tool. It has only 15ftlbs of power, which isn’t enough to do any real damage to your car.
