When used with smooth shank nails, this product is excellent for stud framing. Will not drive screw shank nails at all, and will not even sink smooth shank nails into standard inch and an eighth subfloor decking, according to the manufacturer. I tried cranking the regulator on the compressor to 125 degrees Fahrenheit and adjusting the gun depth to its maximum setting, but it still wouldn’t get them into the subfloor. It’s extremely frustrating. It is ideal for light framing but is not recommended for production framing.
