Buy W1850 Combination Belt & Disc Sander by Fox

3/3 horsepower, 120 volts, 1725 rpm, 4 amp.

Belt dimensions: 1″ x 42.

8-inch disc diameter.

3000 FPM is the maximum speed of the belt.

Table tilt ranges from 0 to 45 degrees.

This belt/disc sander has two tilting cast-iron tables with Miter slots, two 2″ belts, and two 2″ discs “Dust ports, as well as the convenience of a single knob for belt tracking, are also included. Both tables are tilted 45 degrees. In addition, the adjustable Miter gauge allows for precise angle settings in a variety of sanding and sharpening applications. Benchtop sanders are notoriously difficult to come by; however, this machine is an exception.

Inadequate quality control in the manufacturing process. There is at least an inch too much slack in the handle shaft used to tighten the belt table, making it impossible to tighten it at all because the handle rubs up against the table. It is made of cast iron and forged steel, but it is not straight to the point where, when it is secured to the main chassis, it digs into the disc and makes it impossible for it to turn. Any adjustment to the motor or anything around the house will not fix the problem. It’s an engineering nightmare, and I’m willing to bet that because it’s a new product, no one bothered to put one together to put it through its paces. Is it possible that I received a lemon??. Although I have my doubts, it is manufactured from who knows where and is, in my opinion, no better than Harbor Freight tools. Wishing you the best of luck.
