Review: It’s about the size of my Porter Cable drill, which is 20v. Compared to other drivers, this one isn’t very light or easy to move.
Light isn’t very good (very dim even on fully charged battery, too disperse and not enough to actually light up the area you are working on). But I do like that it has a quick chuck inside so that you can just put in bits quickly. This is also easy to hold and has worked well so far. Powerful for what I’ve tried so far.
So even though it’s bigger and heavier, I’m hoping that the brushless motor will help me get some long-term and reliable use out of it.
Edit now that it’s been 5 months.
I’ve used it less than 10 times. I think I used it about five or six times to make a quick thing like a hose bib. Remove the shelf from a wall a few more times.
This failed last night. Click your finger and the light turns on quickly. Online, the manual says that it’s a sign of overheating. I was using it in 8-degree weather to put four little screws in something I was putting together in the garage (a hose bib from Amazon Basics), and it didn’t work on the third screw. There was no way that the heater would have gotten too hot so quickly. Today, it still doesn’t work.
Then I talked to customer service. They went through the registration process, asked me to send them a copy of my Amazon receipt, and now all I get from them in an email is “If you have anything else to add, let us know. There’s no way to tell if they’re going to fix it or not. To write it off as lost because it’s only 5 months old and doesn’t even have a mark on it because it’s been used so little will make me angry.
