This is a good value for money 12v impact driver that does exactly what it says on the tin. Although it is designed for professional use, it has plenty of power, and the batteries last as long as you’d expect a 2 AH battery to last. Comfortable, with an excellent light, and with the dual speed setting for fine-tuning the control of both speed and torque.

However, there are a couple of things that I believe should have resulted in a two-star rating.

First and foremost, it is the same size and weight as my Dewalt 20v impact, so you are not getting the smaller package that you would expect from a 12v tool. It is almost half the size and weighs significantly less than a Makita brushed 12v impact driver, which I use to compare the two tools.

2. This is the most difficult problem I’m facing. The 1/4 bit holder is incapable of holding onto bits. In the case of driving screws, this is not a problem. However, when drilling through walls with a spade bit, the chuck may release the bit as you are backing it out of the hole (speaking from experience). Using the release, I was able to remove my 1/4″ bit and replace it without having to use a release. My bits fall out when I pull it out of the slot my ladder uses to hold it, which is something my Dewalt and Makita do not do at all.

If you’re a homeowner purchasing this for a few weekend projects, it will suffice; however, if you intend to use it for more difficult projects or on a regular basis, I recommend investing in a higher-quality chuck.
