I used it yesterday and it ran out of power after only 30 minutes of cutting 1/2″ plywood at a slower speed on the lower setting. As I use and recharge the battery, it’s possible that the recharge on the battery will accumulate. I’m hoping that will be the case.
The second time I used this jigsaw after a full charge, it lasted 10 minutes with intermittent use. The battery is terrible, and although Amazon offered me a $30 rebate, they do not sell a replacement battery. The only brand-name replacement battery that is currently available has a higher capacity and costs $60. I was dissatisfied with both SKIL and Amazon.
Update, January 2021: This SKIL jigsaw puzzle is still a dud. Now you’ll need two batteries to be able to use it for longer than five minutes, so you’ll need to cut another half-ply. Not only do both batteries fail to last after being charged, but while using the jigsaw, the battery loses its charge and power is lost as a result of this. Why this received so many five-star reviews is beyond my comprehension.
