I didn’t like the first unit I got because it was a safety risk, and I didn’t want to do anything with it. By pressing and then releasing the trigger, for example, the trigger lock wouldn’t come off. As it turned out, it then took two hands to get the unit to turn off. One person pulled a trigger, and the other one moved the locking button in the right place. Not at all safe. So they sent the first one back for a new one. The second thing I don’t like is that it says it has a “SPEED CONTROL– The 2-finger variable speed trigger gives you more control. No way did either one of these two Skil jigsaws have a variable speed trigger that worked when they were sent to me. The button only goes on and off. With very little force or 30 pounds of force, you can start the car. It doesn’t matter. So I think they made the unit cheaper by adding an on-off switch, but didn’t bother to change the description.
One unit was a safety risk, but other than that, it did well.
