I enjoy constructing electronic projects, and one of the requirements of this activity is the construction of an enclosure of some sort. I had a heavy aluminum enclosure that I needed to cut a rectangular hole in, so I used a hacksaw to do it. When I was finished with the hole, I used drills to rough out the edges and a Sonicrafter rasp to finish it off to near perfection. The rasp was simple to use, did not jump around, and worked slowly enough that I was able to keep track of the amount of cutting that was being done. Nice cut, though my caution caused me to undercut the hole and finish it with a hand file instead of a saw. With a little more practice, I won’t need the file. The Sonicrafter and Rasp were both purchased from Amazon.
