Let me say that I am a trim carpenter. This tool is great if you work with doors and have to deal with pocket doors and mortice locks all the time. Get a spade bit and a chisel if you’re just doing it for yourself and you have one lock to put in. Then, mark your lines and hope you don’t drill out the side of the door. The game has changed for me. The amount of time and trouble it saves is huge. As soon as you get used to the set up, it is a precise way to quickly and easily install mortice locks. It’s up to you to watch the videos and decide, but I wish I had bought it years ago.
