When I placed my order for this drill press, I was under the impression that it would be identical to my previous drill press. My previous one, which was manufactured in another country, lasted 40 years. When I first started looking for a drill press, I typed in 17 inch drill press. Somewhere along the line, that particular detail was changed. This is a 13-inch drill press with a chuck. For the vertical shaft of this drill press, a piece of 3 inch exhaust pipe has been used instead of the original. Not at all a heavy-duty piece of equipment. The belt guard is so flimsy that I’m going to remove it and weld washers to it in order to make it more durable and stable. In addition, the electric motor vibrates. All things considered, you get what you pay for. I was attempting to avoid spending $1,000.00 on a drill press, and now I wish that I had spent the money instead. It will get the job done, I am certain of that, but spend more and you will get more for your hard-earned money.
