It becomes very hot very quickly. It is hot enough to use the good acrylic high temp glues, it is large and heavy, which means it would be difficult to break, and it is extremely well insulated..at full temperature, you can simply set it on its side on the ground and it will not melt your carpet or start a fire. It was also reasonably priced, which was a plus. I’ve bought cheap glue guns in the past, but I’m glad I finally invested in a high-quality glue gun. It comes highly recommended.
