With a 90-tooth gear, Tekton stubby ratchets don’t need a lot of space to work. They have a working swing arc of just 4 degrees. Combined with a small head and short handle, they can get the job done in places where other ratchets can’t go. There is a chrome-plated finish on the outside that is resistant to corrosion and easy to clean.
In the beginning.
These are really good tools. People at Tekton could charge more for this. Don’t tell them. Initial quality is about the same as the “premium” brand ratchets that I already own (which cost 2x-3x more, including some of your fave tool truck and boutique brands). They look big, but they’re also well-balanced. To be sure, time will tell, but I don’t think the flex heads will get soft. They look good. There are no burrs, and the finish is easy to clean. Because they’re made like Williams brand ratchets (Snap-On Industrial brand), but these have more teeth and are more useful because they need less space than the older 36-tooth ratchets.

I asked Tekton customer service online for help with some tools and got a quick and very helpful answer. Phone customer service was just as good to me. I think that’s how they do business, and they made me feel sure that Tekton will stand behind their products.

There are some things made in the United States by Tekton and they are a company in the United States. I can hear my dad’s voice in my head telling me to always buy tools made in the United States or Germany. I think he would like it. When my kids move out and start getting their own tool boxes, I can see this ratchet set being a good place for them to start wrenching on cars (along with a master set of impact sockets and ratcheting wrenches).
