If you have one of these, take off the lid and add a lot of silicone to the space where the charging port goes. This will keep it safe. Unsupported, it breaks off the board.
I bought one of these and it was great. a little less powerful than I thought, but it was still very useful. Great! The attachments are very good, too. I like the right angle the best. Everything you need is there. Cutter wheel: Even the small one rips through leather and cardboard like a hot knife through butte.
But this thing has a fatal flaw that can’t be fixed. Because everything is now USB-C, the microUSB charging can be a little annoying now that everything is. It’s better to just have a barrel plug, I think.
But the main problem is that the charging port itself has no protection. When you put it together, you solder it right to the PCB (the printed circuit board). There is nothing else holding it in place. Separate the two parts with a small piece of wire or even fill the mold with silicone goop, but nope. In doing so, you’ll never be able to get the charging port back on the PCB. Even if it didn’t rip the pads off the PCB itself, which also breaks it.
The charging port on the first one I got broke off the board the second time I charged it. I had to buy a new one. The second one I got was broken before it even reached me.
Todocope doesn’t have a phone number or email address. I didn’t check on the second one until after it was past its return window, but Amazon took care of it and only charged me a small amount for restocking (which was my fault, I should have checked when I got it.
So don’t buy this brand. This could have been a 4 or 5 star product, but it didn’t work out that way. But when this product has a flimsy charging port that snaps off the board and can’t be fixed, this is a 0 star review that you should never write.
