My two of these broke in the same way. My router table has the right plate for this one. These Triton routers are great because you can raise the router and change bits above the table. Idea: You don’t need a router lift. The router has a system that automatically locks the collet on the router. Because when you raise the router, its collet stays in place so you can use one wrench when it’s on a table. However, this “system” has also broken twice when I’ve turned the router up toward the table and it fell. Plastic broke off and springs flew out of a cheap plastic handle that fell off. The only time I used this router was to cut some MDF for a speaker case. It worked once. The next time, as I raised the router to change a little, the router got stuck and snapped with a fair amount of force. To put it another way, I can’t tell you to buy this router. In this case, the router is made of cheap plastic, which is easy to break. You can ask me about anything.
