This planer has features that are not currently available on any other planer on the market. However, there are some things that could have been done better as a result of this. First and foremost, the manual. This is a horrible experience for the man. However, in all honesty, there isn’t much to this unit, and if you’re using a tool like this, the chances are good that you’ll be able to figure it out. The three-bladed drum is extremely nice and produces a very smooth finish while simultaneously generating a large amount of chips. Some people have expressed dissatisfaction with the safety switch’s ergonomics or the absence of a trigger lock. Unless you’re left-handed, I don’t see any problems with this. Look, if you believe that you require a trigger lock for a powered hand planer, it is likely that you do not recognize the danger that is lurking around the corner. Pull the trigger while pressing the safety with your thumb. She’ll be gone in a flash. Once the trigger is engaged, the safety can be disengaged, and I’ve found that choking up on the handle and using your middle finger makes it easier to maneuver. The bailing handle on the front is excellent. Torque steer is common with powered hand planers, which is caused by the high rotational speed of the blades under your hands. With the bailing handle, it becomes extremely manageable. When working with a rabbeted feature, the unlimited rebate allows you to get flush with the edge. So far, I haven’t tried it with a fence, so I can’t comment on how well it works. The sanding drum is a really nice feature, though the assembly could have been better thought out and designed. It is possible that it will come loose from the drum while in operation; therefore, spray adhesive should be used to keep it attached to the aluminum drum. 3M Super 77 (also known as 3M Super 77. The purchase of additional sanding sleeves is a different story. It appears that they only sell 80 Grit and that they sell it in conjunction with an aluminum drum for approximately $15 each, which is absurd. Overall, it’s a solid unit with a few minor flaws, but it offers fantastic performance and a variety of unique features. Take a chance!
