I’ve been using the TUNTROL Rotary Tool for a few weeks now and I really like it. I use it for approximately 1.5 hours per day on average to grind soft metal, large solder joints, small welded and brazed parts, and micro-route exotic and hardwoods using micro-bits. So far, the motor has performed admirably, never overheating or becoming sluggish when subjected to heavy loads. The maximum speed of 22,000 rpm could be higher in order to provide optimal service, but it is sufficient for the majority of applications. The shaft performs just as well as its more expensive counterpart; however, it must be lubricated and maintained in the proper manner. If you don’t know how to do it, look it up or ask someone. The pedal is merely a matter of economics. Don’t be taken in by the “plastic is better” nonsense. I still have the cheesy plastic foot pedal from back in the day. It’s still wrapped up and in its box.
