Don’t use an external resistor. Before you buy, tell the seller that you want to use an external resistor. If your motor is heavy-duty, choose a higher horsepower VFD or contact sales for help with model selection. You need to change the Hertz parameter of the VFD if your motor runs at 50 or 60 Hz.
A single or three-phase 220 volts can be put in. A 3phase 220v output. Frequency：0-50hz/60hz. 0-400hz. There are three inputs on the VFD: R, S, and T. You can just connect L1/L2 to any two of them.

I’ve used about 100 of these VFDs for about five years. A few don’t work right away. These aren’t the only things that don’t work, though. Only one of the 100 or so that were put into service failed. If you get a bad one right out of the box, it’s hard.
