So far, this has proven to be a reliable inverter for powering my three-phase lathe from a single phase 240 volt source. I had to purchase a seven and a half horsepower variable frequency drive in order to run a three horsepower lathe. This drive is still unable to start the motor at a high speed without a 12-second ramping period first. By at least half to two-thirds, this manufacturer overrates the performance of their Drive system. In terms of value for money, this is a good buy; however, in order to ensure reliability, make sure to grotesquely oversize the drive you believe you’ll need for your application. However, because so many people have had bad experiences with them, several popular CNC forums have banned the discussion of these drives as a topic due to the large amount of negative feedback they have received. I must have gotten one that was built on a Tuesday morning because this one seems to run like a champ and has clocked in at a respectable number of hours in my welding shop.
